Smart Scheduling System for Medical Clinics
Challenge
Project Overview : The clinic was using a manual scheduling process that often resulted in double bookings, missed appointments, and frustrated patients. I was asked to create a role-based scheduling platform for doctors, admins, and patients. My Role : I handled all aspects of development and system architecture, implementing real-time appointment handling and role-based access for a seamless user experience.
Solution
- React – built intuitive interfaces for each user type (doctor, patient, admin)
- Node.js & Express – managed appointment APIs, time slots, and validation rules
- JWT – used for secure authentication and user access control
- Twilio – integrated SMS reminders and confirmation notifications for patients
- MongoDB – stored appointment data and user records
Results Achieved
45% drop in patient no-shows, Improved coordination between staff and reception, Over 70% reduction in scheduling conflicts
